
Kirsten Allen gave an impressive PowerPoint presentation about native plants and how to introduce them into home gardens at the April 20 meeting.

One of her slides emphasized that we can, in fact, heal the earth. Focusing on the incorporation of native plants will help.

Janette Gann, Jeni O'Callaghan and Jean Franovich represented The Monday Club at the state convention in Phoenix.

Cheryl Kappes showed off her moves during the line dance class taught by Tonja Oliver and Marilyn Williams.

President Sue Shipley called the sessions to order with gentle chimes.

Janette worked the sales table at the convention where the ribbon leis and flag items were popular.

Cheryl Kappes wore a shimmering red dress for her installation as state president and Janette congratulated her as she began her two-year term.

Members from three clubs met for the annual district convention in Prescott.

The district convention theme was "It's a Grand Old Flag," so the clubhouse was decked out in red, white and blue.

Eva Veitch, secretary, was installed at a later date.
"Let Generous Hearts Prevail" is the theme, the colors are red and gold and red gladiola the flower.

During the January General Club meeting, Johanna Van Dyck took the Monday Club pledge and volunteered to serve on the GFWC Environment Program.

Mary Walsh, Lea Anderson and Rosey Padgett were inducted into the club on November 17, 2025.

Thank you for your interest in the Success for Survivors Scholarship which is available through the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC). You may qualify for a grant of up to $3000 to use at an accredited public or private post-secondary or vocational institution.
The deadline to apply is Feb. 15, 2026.

· Enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited public or private post-secondary or vocational institution
· Recommended by a domestic violence agency and/or academic counselor or social worker willing to provide information on behalf of the applicant
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), domestic violence is classified as "physical violence, sexual violence, stalking, and psychological aggression (including coercive acts) by a current or former intimate partner."
